Bonatti, in JV with Renco, was awarded to provide maintenance services for the 8 turbogas power plants (total power of about 80 Mw) that serve Zubair field, Iraq. The oil field is located in the south part of the country, at the  west of Basra. It was discovered in 1949 and it is one of the largest fields in the world. 

The project, at the initial stages, implicated a rapid mobilization of human and technical resources and the ability to provide maintenance engineering skills, as long as it includes the development of maintenance plans for the technological improvement of the installations.

The contract lasts 36 months and consists in a chance for Bonatti to demonstrate the experience accumulated in many similar projects in other areas, and particularly in Iraq with the successful operation & maintenance project executed for Lukoil in WestQurna 2.
