Centro Olio Val D’Agri, Italy: major shutdown activities

Bonatti has been awarded by Eni the contract for shutdown of “COVA - Centro Olio Val d’Agri”, located in Basilicata. It is the largest onshore field in Western Europe: more than 70% of Italian oil is extracted here. Gas, instead is treated and delivered to the Italian grid.

 

The scope of work includes engineering, planning, spare parts procurement, construction, and maintenance activities. The scheduled maintenance includes preliminary activities and full shutdown, that will be executed within first half of 2021.

 

This extraordinary maintenance involves all the interventions and testing activities that cannot be performed during normal plant operations. Bonatti is committed to perform this new contract engaging several local firms to maximise the local content.

Bonatti has been present in Val d’Agri area since early ‘90s, executing some of the main construction projects on the plant, as the upgrading called “DBN2” EPC, conceived by Eni with the target reducing emissions in atmosphere. Related to this scope Bonatti has installed the new CANSOLV (Shell patent) technology, able to reduce SO2 emissions.
