PARMA, 22nd January 2019 – With reference to the conviction given today in Rome by GUP (Preliminary hearing Judge) against directors of the board of Bonatti company and the company itself about the events of 2015 in Libya, the company directors, taking dutifully note of the decision, are confident that in view of the appeal proceedings, which will be promptly proposed, the lack of any responsibility will emerge. The juridical presentation of the facts submitted to the examination of the GUP by the Prosecutor's Office of Rome must be considered new and is certainly worthy of further reflections from part of the interpreters.

The present proceeding has been carried out by the GUP, since the defendants have chosen the abbreviated rite in the belief that – even in the interests of the company and its employees – it is appropriate to achieve a judgment in a short time.

Bonatti has always dedicated the greatest attention and care at guaranteeing safety for its personnel, by achieving excellent results on Health and Safety issues, as awarded by a particularly demanding industry such as the Oil & Gas one the company is operating in.

Although not sharing the outcome of the first instance judgment, the company confirms its proximity to the families of the employees who died in the tragic events.
